As most of you know, I was a public school teacher for four years before I made the trip to Fort Worth to persue my Master's Degree. Well, my four years teaching, though they were full of some great experiences and people, were for the most part full of anquish and frustration. Well, I have made the jump back into the education field lately. I have accepted a position as a tutor at a charter school here in Fort Worth. Well, let me tell you; things don't change very much. Today, I broke up my first fight in four years. I did not miss that at all, and hope to never have to do it again.
Today's events have gotten me to thinking. You know God makes us each and every one for special purposes. Some are more noble than others, but each one has a purpose none the less. Maybe my purpose in life is to do the grungy duties. Maybe I was made for breaking up fights and bringing calm to turbulent places. I don't know, I'm just thinking.

Hi..I hope you don't think I'm a total weirdo, but I saw that you are from Gainesville,as I am,and you look so familiar. Did you ever teach at East Hall Middle School?
God has gifted you in many ways and I am sure that breaking up fights is not the only thing that He has for you to do.
All I am saying that is if I was a kid fighting and you walked up to break the fight, I think that I would do whatever you said. I bet it is great to tower over those little people. Do you even need a harsh tone? If only I could be a fly on the wall.
Lydia, What a small world! I did teach at EHMS from 1997-2001. Did you go to school there? If so, how would I remember you? Were you in one of my classes, sports? I would love to hear from you.
Hey Robin, honestly, kids today don't care. They will do whatever they want to do, and dare you as an adult to stop them irrespective of size or menacing appearance.
Yes,I did go to school there. And I was in one of your classes in 8th grade. I think they called it "0 period"? You probably wouldn't remember me,I was extremely quiet and shy.I knew you looked familiar!
Great idea Sarah! I think the mohawk idea is great and since I cut his hair often, I will have to give that a try.
Just kidding Chris!!! (or am I?)
Sarah, I have been working on my: "I pity the foo!" all day! And I went out tonight pricing some gold chains. Sorry, I can't do the cut off shirt thing though. First, I have been told that it is a fashion faux pas. Second, it is against school dress code.
Lydia,
I am trying to remember you. Did you have sandy blonde hair? Were you a cheerleader? Did you sit next to the big black lab station? Were you friends with Jessica Connor?
Sorry for all the questions, but you have peaked my interest.
It's okay...No,I was a year or two ahead of Jessica Conner.Let's see..I sat towards the front, and the only person I talked to was this girl named Noemi, but she was kind of quiet too so..lol.The only person that I was friends with that you might remember is Linh Nguyen...ring a bell?
you need to come back to the dark side at media services. its not the same without you. btw check us out at www.thegarcia411.com
Lydia, I am drawing a blank. I remember Noemi Marceleno, and Linh, but I just can't place you. I am so sorry, please forgive me. Remember, I am old! Maybe you should post a pic of yourself on your blog, and maybe I will remember then.
It's okay,I was only in that one class, and there were a lot of kids! Hm..the pic could be a problem,I'm keeping my blogger site anonymous as far as pictures go,but there is one at my other site,xanga.com/lyds18. I look quite a bit different though,so I don't know if that would help.
Trying running PR for a whole district! Urrggh...I am not the one on the campuses with the students, but I have to be the one to do crowd control in the community when we something (like a fight) comes up. And days like yesterday, when we had three crises in four hours...that gets a bit frustrating! I feel your pain, man!
