He's a fine dawg!

There are a few things in this ole' world that truly make me happy. I love my family. I have a group of friends that when we are together, the walls shake with the laughter we produce. I love the young lady I am seeing right now. She is a comfort to me, and we have a great time together. I guess that if I were to be honest, there is a list of things a mile long that I love, and that make me happy, but the one I want to focus on today is the wonderful University located in the stately pines of Georgia that is the home of the best college football team in the history of said sport. That's right, the University of Georgia Bulldogs!

What a team! Over the past couple of years the DAWGS have returned to their crushing form of years gone by after a brief period of mediocrity. Thanks to the superb athletic talents of heroic young men like: John & Matt Stinchcomb, Musa Smith, Hines Ward, Terrence Edwards, Odell Thurman, Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud, David Pollack, and David Greene, the UGA Bulldogs have been vanquishing their foes in the Southeastern Conference again. And under the great Christian leadership of head coach Mark Richt, I see no end in sight to Georgia's reign in the SEC. Watching this team mow down their competition is truly a joy to me.

The football team is a great joy to watch, but what would a football team be without a mascot? It is important to have a great mascot, they bring unity to a team, and give both the team and the fans something to be proud of. Now every University has a mascot, but far too many have sub-par mascots, and are all the less for it. Here are some examples: The Oregon Ducks......the ducks? What have they ever done? No National Championships, no games that live on in the highlight reels of ESPN. They have nothing! Or what about the Vanderbuilt Commodores? Yes, a Commodore once ruled the high seas, but they do nothing to inspire a team or its fans. What do we remember the Vanderbuilt Commodores for? That's right, they are everybody in the SEC's homecoming game because you are assured a win when you play them. Finally, consider the confusion that a lack of a clear mascot can cause. Yes, I am referring to the Auburn War Tiggle debacle. Those poor Auburn fans are so confused. Are we the War Eagles? Are we the Tigers? They don't know who to cheer for. For that reason, and that reason alone, those poor Tiggles had to share their national championship with another team. The confusion of not having a clear, powerful, and lovable mascot has ruined the War Tiggles chances of greatness.

Now let us look at the wonderful mascot of the University of Georgia. UGA is the most wonderful mascot in the history of mascots. He inspires confidence and love in the hearts of all who call themselves Georgia fans. Look at his list of accomplishments: The only mascot to ever be invited to the U.S. Senate. Voted in Sports Illustrated to be the most recognized mascot in college sports. Starred in the movie: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Accompanied Herschel Walker to his Heisman Trophy acceptance. UGA has had a countless number of articles written about him in various publications. Not to mention, that at every game he leads the UGA Bulldogs onto the field. What a mascot, what a dog.! You can be proud of him! You can follow him! You can be inspired to victory by him! You can let your kids be licked by him. What a sweet and fine dawg!

Not only is UGA a fine dawg, with personal accomplishments galore, but he also has a fine record in leading the Bulldogs in victories. Consider the statistics: Georgia has 1 National championship. 10 SEC championships. Won 2 Sugar Bowls. Has won dozens of other bowl games including 9 in a row under UGA IV. There have been countless winning seasons, and the DAWGS have decimated their competition for years. What a dog, what a mascot!

Not only does UGA inspire confidence and exude love in his fans, but he also strikes fear in the hearts of his opponents. I mean really, who is not scared of a Bulldog? If you do not believe that UGA strikes fear into the hearts of his opponents just look at this photo of this Auburn War Tiggle and how scared he is of UGA.

Like I stated before, there are a few things that truly bring me joy. UGA, and the University of Georgia do bring me joy.
(I hope that you note the facetiousness in this blog)

If the University of Georgia is reigning in the SEC, then why were they not the SEC champs in 2004? Hummm, stick that in your craw!

p.s. the young lady you are seeing is very lucky even if she does have to compete with a four legged creature.

The young lady I am seeing does not have to compete with UGA. She has him beat hands down.

Oh, and by the way; the reason we were not SEC champs in 2004 is because we are humble and like to share with other schools.

you must be really good at the sharing thing then....how long has it been since "you" were the SEC champs??

2003 Bonizzle, if you will remember correctly, we beat the Tiggles on a last minute touchdown to clinch our berth in the SEC championship game!
